How Nigeria Plane Crash Survivor Wows judges at America Got Talent Season 12
One of survivors of the Sosoliso aircraft crash in Nigeria, Kechi Okwuchi this week gave an emotional performance of the season 12 of America’s Got Talent.
Kechi, who has scars on her face and body, told Judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel before singing her version of Ed Sheeran, that she was one of only two survivors of a plane crash that took place In Nigeria several years ago.
Despite his struggles, Kechi fought for his life, recovered and then pursued his passion by singing.
When asked by Simeon Cowell about how she managed to cope with her truama she said,” with bandages coming from head in hospital bed to foot, music was my escape and that’s the reason it means so much to me”.
When she started singing “Thinking Out Loud,” the judges still seemed uncertain of her talent. Some members of the public began to encourage him, but it was only after announcing his high notes that everyone realized the beauty of his tone.
Cowell and Mandel gave Kechi a standing ovation, and Mel B and Klum kept applauding until they were about to give their comments. At his appearance, Kechi will move on to the next round.
Kechi, who after several surgeries, finished from the University of Thomas Houston, Texas, May 16, 2015 Thus received a first class degree, what succumbed to six academic honorary societies.
She was the student most notable for her focus on economics and has been accepted into graduate school for his MBA.
